L-arabinose

(D-arabinofuranose)

L-arabinose is a naturally-occurring aldopentose, which manufactured using a solvent free separation process from plant biomass. L-arabinose has GRAS (Generally Regarded as Safe) status through the Flavour and Extract Manufacturers Association (FEMA).
L-arabinose is also approved as a food ingredient in Japan.

L-arabinose is available in two grades:

L-arabinose CT98

L-arabinose CT98 suitable or a wide range of applications including the production of savoury reaction flavours and use as a sucrase enzyme inhibitor to lower the glycaemic index of sucrose containing products. L-arabinose CT98 has Kosher Parave status and a “natural” designation.
